Braatz & Company, doing business as Braatz Ledger, keeps the books for your business. This page says what we hold, why we hold it, and how you get it back.

What we hold

Your account details (the email and phone number you signed up with), your bank and payment-processor transactions and account balances, the categories and rules you create, and the records we derive from them. Nothing else.

Where it lives

In a Postgres database provisioned for your business alone — not a shared table with a tenant column, and not a spreadsheet. Every page and every programmatic answer reads that one database under the same per-tenant checks.

Bank access is read-only

We connect to your bank through Plaid. That connection can read transactions and balances and can do nothing else: it cannot move money, open an account, or change anything at your bank. We never see or store your banking password — you enter it with your bank, not with us.

Who else sees it

The processors that make the service work, and no one else: Plaid for the bank connection, our payment processor for billing, and the hosting the database runs on. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your books to train anything.

Getting it back, and getting it deleted

You can export your transactions and accounts at any time, in formats a spreadsheet and an accountant can both open. Ask us to close your account and the vault and its backups are deleted; ask for a copy first and you get one.
