What do you actually do every day?
Your bank feed is pulled on a daily schedule, every new transaction is categorised against your own chart of accounts, and the month is reconciled as it goes. You get a profit-and-loss that is current, not one that gets built in a panic in April.
What can you see in my bank account?
Transactions and balances, read-only, through Plaid. There is no way to move money from the connection you give us, because the connection does not carry that permission. We never see or store your bank password.
What happens to my books if I leave?
You export everything — every transaction, every category, every month — to QuickBooks or to a spreadsheet, and you cancel. There is no export fee, no wind-down period and no call you have to sit through. You leave with a complete set of books.
What does the free plan really mean?
It shows you the last 48 hours of your ledger, so you can watch the thing work on your own real transactions before you pay anything. Nothing older is deleted — the view is what rolls back, and upgrading shows you everything again without reconnecting your bank.
Do I still need an accountant at tax time?
Probably, and that is the point. Braatz & Company is a bookkeeping practice, not a public accounting firm: we do not file your return or sign an audit. We hand your CPA a clean, reconciled set of books so their bill is smaller.

Braatz & Company is a bookkeeping practice in Temple, Texas, run by Jason Braatz — formerly interim CFO of Sony North America's computing division, and a builder of financial time series at Google. Braatz Ledger is the product the practice runs on, and the same person answers the phone.
